THE team at a daycare near Worcester where "staff are like family" are delighted with their Ofsted inspection results.

Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten, based at Top Barn Farm in Holt Heath, has been awarded a 'Good' Ofsted rating following their recent full inspection Tuesday, March 7

The daycare ranked 'good' in all areas of inspection, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten uses the outdoors to provide a learning environment for children aged two to five years old.

Hannah Reeve, CEO of Nurture Families, Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten’s parent company, said: “It’s fantastic that all the incredible work of the children, staff and parents at Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten has been recognised by Ofsted.

"I know that this wonderful community will continue to grow and develop as we move forward with our wider services for children and families under Nurture Families CIC.”

The report notes how children with special educational needs and disabilities are fully supported, with the special educational needs coordinator working closely with parents and staff.

Parents also speak positively about the setting, with many describing the managers and staff as family and expressing feeling grateful for the empathy, respect, support, and care that staff show them and their children.

Helen Reeve, parent-infant therapist, said: “We are delighted to have been graded a ‘strong good’ (which were the inspector’s words).

"The inspector was really impressed with the hard work that goes into supporting children and families at Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten.

“The children demonstrated beautifully to the inspector how they lead their own learning.”

To further improve the quality of the early years' provision, the report suggested that Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten review the organisation of adult-led activities to extend and maximise all children's learning and support older children to build on what they already know.

It has also been advised to develop further opportunities for children to acquire and enhance their early mathematical skills.

The report said: "They have ambitious plans for the future, which they have shared with staff and parents.

"These include relocating the kindergarten and creating a setting that supports families and children from conception.

"Staff are excited to share this journey and aspire to work in even closer partnerships with other professionals to enhance the support they offer to children and families."

Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten was founded in 2015, offering programs for both two-year-olds and three- to five-year-olds, focusing on experiential learning through play-based activities.
