A GIANT chocolate bunny taken from a popular county garden centre has still not been returned.

Earlier this month, two women allegedly walked out of Laylocks Garden Centre, in Cotheridge, without paying for a 1kg Lindt bunny which was an Easter competition prize.

Laylocks Garden Centre posted CCTV pictures of the two women, who they claim left without paying for the large chocolate treat which was intended to be won by a lucky customer.

A spokesperson for the business said: "Nothing more has come from this, they never returned the prize."

Laylocks Garden Centre posted the CCTV images alongside an appeal for the women to return the chocolate treat.

The original Facebook post read: "Oopsie. It looks as though these two ladies got swept up in the excitement of the bank holiday and accidentally thought they’d won our Easter competition, so have hopped home with our chocolate bunny.

"We’d very much like it back to give it to the real winner, so if anyone knows who these women are please do let us know."

The women were only in the garden centre for a few minutes according to a manager at the garden centre.

The Laylocks Garden Centre manager previously said: "They pulled up to the garden centre in a white Audi and both got out of the car while the Audi drove away.

"They made their way straight to the deli farm shop area of the garden centre and grabbed the 1kg Lindt bunny.

"After this, they made their way to near the exit where one of the women spoke to two staff members on the till whilst the other was able to exit the garden centre.

"Upon leaving, they made their way out of the garden centre and onto the main road where the white Audi picked them up and they drove away.

"We intend to report this to the police. We just want the bunny returned so it can go to the winner of the competition."

Laylocks Garden Centre is an independent, family-owned business, which sells a wide variety of gardening products.

The business also has a restaurant and deli farm shop.
