A VENUE which allegedly holds large, "inconsiderate" fireworks parties is still under investigation.

La Nasu on Tolladine Road had been accused of breaching its licence by residents who say they host noisy parties every week.

The restaurant - located in the middle of a housing estate - is currently licenced to stay open until 1am on weekends.

However, many say the venue has breached the licence and lets off fireworks late at night.

Previously, in response to the claims, La Nasu said it is doing nothing wrong and will keep hosting its parties, which they believe the business' licence allows.

The investigation into the premises was launched last month after the venue went live on Facebook to showcase the fireworks they set off on a Friday night.

The venue also connected to Altaf Grill House, has denied claims and the landlord of the business and local councillor Mohammad Altaf, said the fireworks were from Christmas.

The Facebook post has since been removed.

A Worcester City Council spokesperson said: "The matter is still under investigation."

When the claims were addressed to Oana Petre, the owner of La Nasu, she said:

"We do have parties, but it is on our licence, and we asked about the fireworks, and we understood we could do this.

"I feel really sorry for everything, but we have done nothing wrong.

"Every weekend till 1am, we will be like this."

Residents on the Tolladine estate have been collecting evidence of the parties.

Edward Kimberley, activist and Labour candidate, said he had been listening to residents' complaints and gathering evidence.

He said: "I have spoken to several people who, as you can imagine, are not happy to be woken up in the middle of the night.

"I have been told some residents have seen people leave the premises after the designated time.

"It is inconsiderate for anyone to let off fireworks in a tightly packed residential area."
