The 46-year-old of Tallow Hill, Worcester carried out the burglary in the early hours of Sunday, June 4 and admitted the burglary when he appeared at court.

The defendant attended Kidderminster remand court the same day where he has been remanded in custody, pending his next hearing at Worcester Crown Court on July 7.

At about 6am Grzegorczyk has been moving around the property, attempting to gain access through a number of doors before sneaking into the premises through an insecure door, and stealing mobile phones and cash cards, which he has later disposed of with an associate.

A second male, 43, also from Worcester has been arrested in connection with the use of the stolen bank cards and handling stolen goods and is currently on police bail. The stolen mobile phones were recovered during a search of this male’s premises.

DS Grant Fraser said: “This investigation has resulted in a swift resolution due to the work conducted by both Worcester Patrol officers and officers from Proactive CID.

"The offence itself has been opportunist in nature and with the hot weather having now arrived, no matter how fleeting due to the unpredictable British summer, we would ask the public to be conscious of the security of their homes in terms of leaving doors and windows open.

"Unfortunately, there will always be a small criminal element that will look to use this to their advantage.

"On this occasion the courts of seen fit to remand Mr Grzegorczyk to prison pending his sentencing hearing in July.”
