MAJOR disruption is being reported on the railways because of a signalling fault which will affect passengers in Worcester. 

The signalling fault at Gloucester will have an impact on passengers using Worcester Foregate Street and Shrub Hill Stations. 

 

 

The routes affected are:

  • CrossCountry between Nottingham and Cardiff Central Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa / Swansea / Worcester Shrub Hill, and between Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury and Gloucester / Weymouth, and between Salisbury and Worcester Foregate Street Transport for Wales between Cheltenham Spa and Cardiff Central / Maesteg 

As a result, trains running through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 120 minutes or revised. The major disruption is expected until 2pm.

Customer Advice CrossCountry Trains will be suspended between Birmingham New Street and Cardiff Central.

A spokesperson said: "You may use your ticket on Transport for Wales services between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa Great Western Railway services between Reading and Cardiff Central Rail replacement transport will run."

Train services between London Paddington and South Wales are subject to considerable disruption / revision as this is on the diversionary route in use whilst work is carried out on the direct route through Severn Tunnel.

Train services between London Paddington / Swindon and Cheltenham Spa are subject to delay / revision.
