THE Race for Life is returning to Worcester this weekend.

This year marks the 30-year anniversary of  Race for Life, with Worcester's event taking place on Sunday, July 9 at Worcester Racecourse.

The Worcester 5K Race for Life course begins in the middle of the racecourse and circles the inside of the race track.

It then joins the path along the outside perimeter of the race track and the river, before passing the grandstand and heading back towards the finish.

The whole course has an overall ascent of 3m, and those taking part can run either a 3k, 5k or 10k.

Alternatively, there is also a 'Pretty Muddy' event that you can take part in.

Those taking part can run, jog or walk their way around the course, with the goal being to fundraise for life-saving research.

All the money raised by those involved goes to Cancer Research UK, a world-leading charity in finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

For those commuting to the Worcester Race For Life, organisers are advising planning your journey to the event ahead of time, allowing an extra five minutes to get to the start area once you have arrived at the racecourse.

Racers are advised to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before their start time so that they are prepared and ready to go on time.

Adult prices cost £15.99, children's prices are £11 and those under six are free. A £50 fundraising minimum is required to take part.
