A DINER serving Indian street food, pizza and gelato ice cream has opened up in the heart of the city centre.

Velentino Gelato has opened up on St Nicholas Street in Worcester and the new shop hopes to bring something new to the city centre.

At the moment, the shop serves up a range of different gelato flavours alongside milkshakes, desserts and coffee.

But owner Sheikh Latif hopes to add pizza in the next two weeks and Indian food onto the menu in the next six to eight weeks.

Mr Latif has worked in hospitality for the past 21 years and said he is very excited about his new business venture.

He said: "There is nothing like this in the city centre, we are going to offer pizza and South Asian street food.

"We want the business to work, so we do need to offer something different.

"We've bought the prices down, which will help the community during the cost of living crisis.

Renovations are still ongoing and Mr Latif hopes to add more colour to the venue.

But the diner has already started to welcome customers through the door. Mr Latif said: "I believe in service, you have to greet people at the door and then get them seated.

"Good service is very important to us."
