Police said they are unaware of any stolen or damaged property but have encouraged residents to call 101 if they see anyone acting suspiciously around a vehicle.

PCSO Dave Clee said: "There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your property - where possible, remove all valuable items from your vehicle before leaving it unattended.

"Please make sure that cars are locked and all windows are closed.

"Keep keyless car keys or cards away from the locked car, and where possible, use a faraday cage."
