SEVERN Trent Water (STW) has apologised for the gridlocked traffic in London Road and adjourning city roads, while its latest roadworks continue.
Traffic in Wylds Lane, Whittington Road, the A440, Battenhall Road, and Spetchley Road have all been affected by the roadworks on London Road this week, particularly at peak hours.
One driver stuck in the traffic said Midland Road, which turns onto Wylds Lane, was also gridlocked at 8.50am on Tuesday, (September 19).
The roadworks which have been causing disruption began on Monday, (September 18), and One Network has said STW hope to finish on Wednesday, (September 20), at 5pm.
One driver who was stuck on Wylds Lane said on Tuesday morning: "I have never seen Wylds Lane so busy.
"It is mad.

"People are trying to do three-point turns to go back up Midland Road."
Another driver added: "It's exactly the same on London Road."
It was particularly bad by lunchtime on Tuesday as the city centre also ground to a halt due to the discovery of the unexploded device.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We are currently working on London Road to improve the water pressure for customers living in the area.
"To do this safely, we’ve put four-way traffic lights in place.
“We know that roadworks can be frustrating and would like to apologise for any inconvenience while we complete this important network upgrade, and we’re aiming to have the work completed as soon as we can.”
