A life-sized haunted doll house has become available to rent near Alton Towers Resort but it's not your usual property.

The theme park is renting the property for £666 per month and Alton Towers fans may recognise it.

The pop-up haunted doll’s house gave the public the first insight into the new ride called The Curse at Alton Manor earlier this year.

It introduced them to the story of Emily Alton, the child from the original haunted house whose demonic exploits inspired the ride which opened on March 18.

The house is located in Alton, the Staffordshire village where the theme park is.

It has a Victorian style and comprises of a lounge, dining room and attic nursery.

In the lounge, you’ll see worn and torn period wallpaper plus a dresser which new tenants are urged not to move.

There’s an original antique fireplace as well as a China cabinet that houses a selection of head-spinning specimens, the theme park says.

The nursery comes complete with an empty cot and an abandoned rocking horse.

Other features include a fully-opening frontage providing ease of access and a narrow secret passageway scrawled with sinister graffiti.

How to view the property

The property is being marketed by Leaders estate agents ahead of Friday, October 13 and you can view the listing via the website.

It can also be viewed on Rightmove and Zoopla property portals.

It’s worth noting though that the previous owner of this property, which is available to rent immediately according to the advert, will not let it go easily and gaining possession would be a challenge.

Viewings are to be booked at your own risk and potential residents should understand there is a strong chance the property will not be able to be let out at all.

Laura Aspinall, Regional Lettings Director for Leaders, North West said: “We’re thrilled to be able to list this unique Victorian home to those brave enough to cross its threshold.

“Its history is a little shrouded in mystery but from what we can discern it has been in the Alton family for a number of generations, with the previous owner believed to be a certain Miss Emily Alton.

“Not suitable for anyone of a nervous disposition, it does require a little work to bring some of its more unsettling features up to date.

“But once they have been completed, we hope it will prove a blessing and not a Curse for a young family who will have the stunning Staffordshire moorlands on their doorstep alongside the nearby Alton Towers Resort, which is currently holding its spine-tingling Scarefest.”
