STRANGE 'parody' posters have appeared across a Worcester estate including one warning of 'five days of fireworks' to celebrate a boy's fifth birthday.

The series of posters have featured one about 'The Warndon Warriors',  a community safety group taking part in nightly patrols, one about a missing swing, one that describes the exploits of a lost and very badly trained pigeon and another purporting to be an ad for the Heegie-Beegees (Worcester's Bee Gees Appreciation Group).

The posters have been spotted all over Warndon Villages in Worcester and have been something of a conversation-starter among residents.

Members of the Warndon Villages Community Group have shared photos of some of the images of the posters which they believe are tongue-in-cheek and put up for their comedy value.

Although not everyone saw the funny side. One group member, referencing the poster about 'five days of fireworks', said: "I'm all for a bit of light entertainment but this is totally lost on me and I don't think the person who put it up is likely to give Peter Kay or Banksy sleepless nights about losing their careers to them. What a waste of their time and thanks for yet more indestructible plastic left around to damage the environment."

The poster about the 'Warndon Warriors', fixed to a lamppost in Warndon Villages, reads: "Are you aged 16-22? Do you want to give back to the community? Join us on our friendly nightly patrols.

"Check car door handles to make sure they're locked. Ensure garages and gates are secure. Patrols run from 12am, weather dependent. Snacks provided by Kev's nan."

The swing poster reads: "Swing for grown child (or thin adult) silver chain with black seat looks like the one on the left) - last seen at the start of Covid on March, 2020.

Someone from the group said he believed the posters were all parodies. He said: "I'm pretty sure the council did not put up the one about the swing."

Another poster features a photo of a pigeon and asks: "Is this yours? No nametag, yelled every name at it, doesn't respond to any, obeys no commands (very poorly trained)

"Not going to hold onto your bird much longer - it is terrorising my dogs and daughter."
