A memorial service has been arranged to remember those loved ones we have lost in the last year.

The special memorial service is being held at Worcester Crematorium and Cemetery on Thursday, December 14.

This is an opportunity for people from across Worcester to come together and remember the loved ones they have lost over the past year.

Tickets are free, however numbers are limited to 105, so local residents are being encouraged to apply for tickets as soon as they can.

“Christmas is a time of celebration, but if you have lost a loved one in recent months it can be difficult to face seasonal festivities without them,” says Sian Redmond of Worcester City Council’s Bereavement Services.

“This memorial service will give people the chance to share the experiencing of grieving for a loved one and also celebrate that person’s life, in the company of others who have had a similar experience.”

The service, which is open to people of all faiths and none, starts at 6pm on December 14 at the Astwood Road Crematorium. It will be conducted by civil celebrant Clare Smith; Rev Sarah Cotterill and Rev Catherine Lack of the Church of England; Humanist celebrant Sarah Crabbe; and Jatinderpal Singh Loyal of the Worcestershire Interfaith Forum.

After the service, light refreshments and mince pies will be available.
