VISITORS to the city's Christmas Fayre are being warned of disruption on the railways throughout this weekend due to industrial action and 'busier trains'.

The information was issued by West Midlands Railway today as thousands flock to Worcester's Victorian Christmas Fayre, some of whom may be travelling on the railways.

The notice, issued over social media, reads: "Travelling to Worcester Victorian Christmas Market this weekend? Due to industrial action, services will be busier than usual on Friday and Saturday.

"No trains will be operating on Sunday. Please leave extra time to travel."

Travellers are urged to check timetables before travelling.

A spokesperson said: "Due to action short of a strike we are expecting adjustments in train timetables. We appreciate your patience during this time, and strongly advising checking live updates and planning your journey accordingly."
