A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for near Worcester.

The easterly outskirts of the city are covered by the Met Office's warning for heavy rain.

The warning covers the West Midlands including Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham but includes the  outskirts of the city.

The weather warning is issued for Thursday (December 7) and runs from 12pm to 8pm.

Heavy rain is likely to cause some disruption to travel and flooding in a few places during Thursday, warns the Met Office.

People should expect bus and train services could probably be affected with journey times taking longer.

Spray and flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer and The Met Office warns that flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.

Weather forecast for Worcester

It will be wet start to Worcester on Thursday with rain forecast for most of the day - until at least 8pm.

The temperature will reach 8C but will reach double figures for the rest of the week.

Friday will reach 10C but remain rainy while Saturday will bring a bit of sunshine and showers with highs of 13C.

Sunday will stay cloudy most of the day with The Met Office predicting temperatures reaching 12C.
