TWO people have been arrested for drugs offences in Worcester with one witness saying 'armed police' were involved.
We reported how a marked car on blue lights was parked in Deansway near the Cathedral before Heart of Worcester College, Maggs Day Centre and Copenhagen Street car park this afternoon.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers stopped a car on Deansway in Worcester this afternoon around 3.30pm.
"Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences."
One eyewitness said there was a man in a balaclava in the front passenger seat.
A second eyewitness said: "It was an armed police stop around around 3.53 this afternoon. Eight armed police looked to arrest three people."
It has not yet been confirmed by police that armed officers were deployed to the scene though we have asked for confirmation this was the case.
