AN EYECATCHING full moon is catching people’s attention tonight.
It is the full snow moon - and is one of the smallest full moons in 2024.
According to space.com, February's Full Snow Moon is an apogee - it is occurring while the moon approaches its farthest point from Earth in its orbit.
It is this which makes the full moon appear smaller to skywatchers.
There types of moons are often referred to as "micromoons”.
