A MAN has been stabbed in the neck with a bottle and another man has also been injured as police make an arrest. 

A witness described several police vehicles, an ambulance, an ambulance car and an incident commander van at The Cross in Worcester at around midnight.

The incident was said by one witness to be taking place by Merkur Slots and police vehicles on blue lights were seen in images shared of the incident.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We were called to an altercation outside Merkur Slots in The Cross, Worcester at 11.49pm last night after reports of a man having been stabbed in the neck with a bottle. He was taken to hospital and another man was injured.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of ABH, two counts of common assault and possession of an offensive weapon.”

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an assault near to the junction of The Cross and The Avenue at 11.50pm. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and an advanced paramedic attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to hospital."
