A 'SHOCKED' couple had a narrow escape when a suspected 'stolen' car crashed into a fence during a police chase, narrowly missing their car as they pulled out of their drive.
Emma Kelly and husband Sean Kelly were pulling out of their drive on Wheelwright Close, near Saddlers Walk, in Worcester when they were caught up in the incident as the car crashed into their fence.
They had been about to go into Worcester with their children when the red Fiat 500 ploughed into their £400 fence at around 4pm, narrowly missing the back of their Nissan at around 4pm today.
Mrs Kelly, 37, and husband Sean saw smoke was coming out of the back of the Fiat as it was pursued by a police car on blue lights before it ploughed into their fence, also damaging their artificial grass and plants.
A learner driver was also parked nearby when the car sped past them at an estimated speed of 40mph before it crashed and four people get out of the car and ran away along an alleyway.
Mrs Kelly said: "My husband said 'stop!' and I saw in the distance the blue flashing lights. The Fiat whizzed past the back end of our car. I was shaking."
The couple understands another police unit was waiting at the other end of the alleyway as the group ran off in the direction of Sainsbury's Blackpole.

Mrs Kelly added: "I was so shook up I didn't know what to do. I still feel sick. We were heading to town to buy some new school shoes for my son when this happened. We haven't been able to go now."
Mr Kelly said: "There was smoke coming out of the back of the car (the Fiat) and it was screaming. He didn't know how to drive. They were all young lads. It's damaged my artificial grass and knocked over my plants."
He also said seven children play in the area near the scene of the crash, including the couple's own two children.
"They play football out here. The neighbours heard the bang and they came out. The lads looked at me but all happened so quickly I would not recognise them. They just bolted down the alleyway.
"My son was upset by it," said Mr Kelly.
