A WANTED man who made threats to kill is now back in prison after he was found by police following a targeted search.

Ben Parkinson was found in Warndon in Worcester and is now back behind bars, West Mercia Police has confirmed.

His apprehension follows an urgent public appeal to find him.

West Mercia Police issued the appeal and advised the public to call 999 if they saw the 34-year-old.

In the end, it was a targeted search in Warndon which located him.

On licence at the time of his arrest, Parkinson has now been sent back to jail to serve the remainder of his prison sentence.

Police offender managers said they had offered Parkinson, who has weapon and assault convictions, support but that he has not made use of the help offered to him.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "I can confirm that he was located in the Warndon area of Worcester on May 9 by the South Worcester Integrated Offender Management Team and subsequently returned to prison where he will now serve the rest of his licence following the breach.

"The IOM team and probation service provided Parkinson with the support to serve his licence in the community, but he failed to embrace the support offered by his probation. He was located by detectives carrying out targeted area searches."

Parkinson was released from jail on Tuesday, May 2 and a recall to prison was quickly issued because he had not abided by his licence conditions.

A force spokesman said: "Parkinson has been incarcerated for some time for multiple offences which include making threats to kill, assaults, theft, possession of offensive weapons and other serious matters."

We reported last year how Benjamin Parkinson, formerly of Worcester, appeared via videolink to Worcester Crown Court in July.

The counts on the indictment Parkinson faced were a threat to kill on August 31, 2021, and on the same date an alleged offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Parkinson also faced a count of theft, allegedly stealing two coins, a mobile phone and a blue anorak on August 31, 2021.
