Revolution owners The Revel Collective have closed 21 bars across the UK, resulting in the loss of 591 jobs.
The Revel Collective made the announcement on Tuesday (January 27) after falling into administration due to struggles with rising costs and weaker consumer spending, particularly among its younger clientele.
FTI Consulting has been appointed administrator, and a sale has been secured for other parts of the business.
FTI has confirmed a pair of deals that will secure the future of 41 sites and 1,582 jobs.
The Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba brands and assets have been bought by Neos Hospitality Group, which runs the Barbara’s Bier Haus and Bonnie Rogues brands.
Meanwhile, the remaining Peach Pubs business has been bought by a newly-formed group called Coral Pub Company.

Despite the sale of some of Revolution's assets, 21 bars are still set to close across the UK.
The venues closing, with immediate effect, include 14 Revolution bars, six Revolucion de Cuba bars, and one Peach Pub.

In a post on Instagram, Revolution said: "Today we say goodbye to a number of our bars, and that’s not easy.
"We’re incredibly proud of the teams, memories and moments created in those spaces.
"While some doors have closed, many remain open and we’re still here bringing the party in locations across the UK."
Major Revolution restructure fails
The Revel Collective, chaired by former Pizza Express boss Luke Johnson, underwent a major restructure in 2024.
This saw 15 "unprofitable" Revolution bars shut, as the group attempted to turn around its performance.
These revamp plans faltered, and it launched a strategic review last autumn into funding and a sale of all or parts of the business.
Eventually, The Revel Collective put itself up for sale in October as its cash crisis deepened and sales slumped.
Other major retailers that have closed stores already in 2026
Other high street retailers have been forced to close stores already in 2026, including River Island, Primark, and Poundland.
Meanwhile, Russell & Bromley announced last week that it had fallen into administration.
Despite the British shoe retailer being purchased by Next, 33 stores remain at risk of closing.
UK travel companies Regen Central Ltd and Gold Crest Holidays have also ceased trading in January, impacting travellers across the UK.
UK kitchen retailer Moores also entered administration recently, resulting in the loss of 124 jobs.
Claire's and The Original Factory Shop went into administration for the second time in a matter of months earlier this week.
Insolvency practitioners from Kroll were appointed on Monday (January 26) to handle the process, as more than a thousand high street jobs are now at risk.

Claire's first went into administration last year after its former US parent company went bankrupt, before being saved by investment firm Modella Capital.
Modella bought more than 150 Claire’s shops last year, but 145 were not included in the deal, leading to their closure.
Now the remaining sites may follow.
