FOOTBALL fans in Worcester were rowdy but good-natured and well-behaved during England's draw with Scotland.

The Euro 2020 game, which ended in a 0-0 draw, kicked off at 8pm and brought large crowds into Worcester city centre but there were no football-related arrests or crimes recorded.

Worcester city safer qeighbourhood inspector Fergus Green, speaking earlier today, said there was not any disorder linked to the game and confirmed there had been no arrests specifically related to the football at all. This pattern was replicated across South Worcestershire he said.

Insp Green said: "There were lots of people out enjoying the football and a large crowd having a sing along after the match. It was reasonably rowdy but there was nothing abusive at any time."

A number of people were warned about their behaviour but there were no crimes and no arrests recorded in relation to the game with people heeding the advice given to them.

"It was a reasonably good-natured crowd out enjoying the football. Where behaviour became a bit over-the-top advice was given and listened to," he said.

Despite the lack of trouble Insp Green said they had been 'braced and ready' with extra officers out on the streets prepared to respond to any crimes or disorder but that the crowds were in 'in a good mood'.
