THE home of a vegan cafe which closed 'temporarily' has now gone on sale for £325,000.

The building housing Be the Change, in New Street, Worcester, has appeared for sale on RightMove for £325,000 'with vacant possession'.

A for sale sign is now hanging outside the business.

The premises is advertised as an 'extremely attractive freehold Grade II listed building'.

The three-storey building is described as having a cellar, rear yard and a rateable value of £14,500 (the annual rent the property would rent for, if it were available to let on the open market).

The fixtures and fittings are also for sale at £40,000 plus VAT.

We reported earlier this week that Be The Change said its closure is only planned to last for two weeks "through nobody's fault".

However,  it could not give any more information on the closure or an exact date when the cafe and restaurant would reopen.

A spokesperson for Be The Change said: "We're very sorry to all of you who will be affected by our closure for the next two weeks.

"We're also sorry that we can't give you more details at this stage.

"We're so grateful for all of your custom and loyalty, and ideally you deserve more information than we're able to give at the moment.

"In short, things have been very tough lately.

"Some things we've been able to grin and bear; some we've not been able to; added to this, in the last couple of days, a couple of factors have taken matters out of our hands, meaning we have no choice but to temporarily close, through nobody's fault.

"Essential, time-sensitive emails will be responded to, but otherwise communication will be resumed upon re-opening.

"Thank you for all of your kindness and support recently.

"The love you send to our hearts will always outweigh the hardships."

Be the Change recently closed its Cornmarket cafe down and moved all of its services to its restaurant in New Street.

Be The Change opened the cafe in Worcester's Cornmarket in 2018 and opened a second venue, a restaurant, on New Street in 2021.

However, the owners made the decision to combine both the cafe and restaurant at 15 New Street instead of keeping them as separate establishments.
