A POPULAR food and drink festival had thousands of foodies flock to Droitwich.

Mouthwatering aromas and foot-tapping music filled Lido Park to the brim as many celebrated the Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival last weekend.

Food lovers were invited to explore various food stalls, watch chef demonstrations, listen to stages worth of live music and look around at other small stallholders selling handmade items.

The festival has been advertised as being bigger and better than the previous 13 years it had run.

For the first time, the festival started on the Friday afternoon to give visitors a long weekend of fun, which many had taken advantage of.

Mark Cookson, the festival organiser, said: "We included a Friday evening which has never been done before, and people can come to listen to live music and have some food and drink.

"Last year, when the festival finished, people did not want it to end so we extended the weekend."

"I’d like to add my thanks to the organising team, stall holders, entertainers and support staff for putting on another excellent event, enjoyed by so many people from Droitwich and the wider area, with a fantastic community spirit.”
