A NEW pub coming to Worcester city centre has finally revealed its name.

The King's Arms will be the name of the new Davenports location in Worcester, at the Cornmarket, at the former Worcester Steak 'n' Grill House.

Work is set to start on the site "in the next few weeks" according to a Davenports spokesperson.

The pub will be offering curated free live entertainment at the weekends, and screens that will be showing live sport in the bar area.

The food served at the pub will range from "pub classics" to more "creative dishes" and "wickedly good burgers", which were previously teased by the chain earlier this year.

Davenports Brewery acquired the site in 2022, but work on the new pub was pushed back due to other projects taking priority.

In June, Davenports said that the pub was likely to open in "autumn", with an official date still not yet confirmed.

Davenports previously said that 25 jobs will be created at the new city centre location.

The venue previously opened as Francesca's in November 2019 and before that was called the Maltster, Bar 12 and the Slug and Lettuce. It was listed for sale in March 2021.

Davenports also owns and operates hotels, nightclubs, and event venues around the West Midlands region.

The Brewery was established in Birmingham in 1829, with Davenports' branded beer sold through online retailers and across pubs in the West Midlands.
