SEVERAL drivers are due in a city court today over alleged speeding on the M5 after falling foul of average speed cameras.

The drivers are all due to have their cases heard today at Worcester Magistrates Court as magistrates deal with various traffic offences.

M5 speed cameras have caught several drivers going over 40mph on a stretch of motorway near Worcester.

Philip Blackwell, 53, of Mawson Street, Shipley is due in court over speeding on April 9 on the M5 northbound between junctions 6 and 5, exceeding the 40 miles per hour limit.

Simon Evans, 55, of Church Road, Brown Edge, Stoke-on-Trent, is also due to have his case heard after his Volkswagen was said to be driven over the variable speed between junctions 6 and 5 northbound on June 9 at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour.

Stephen Taylor, 36, of Lime Terrace, Westfield, Radstock, is also due to have his case heard over exceeding the variable speed limit (automatic camera device) in a Nissan on March 31 (60mph limit) on the M5 northbound between junctions 6 and 5.

Elizbieta Bate, 46, of Radnor Close, Rednal, is also due to have her case heard after it is said she exceeded a variable speed limit in a Hyundai which was captured on an automatic camera device on July 13. She is said to have travelled over the 60mph limit then in force between between junctions 4a and 5.
