HERE are some of the Worcestershire criminals who will spend Christmas behind bars after being jailed this year.

A mother and her career criminal fiancee are behind bars for killing schoolboy Alfie Steele. 

Dirk Howell, 41, of Princip Street, Birmingham, and Alfie's mother Carla Scott, 35, of Vashon Drive, Droitwich, were sentenced at Coventry Crown Court in June. 

The pair subjected the nine-year-old to harrowing abuse at his Droitwich home. 

The court heard Scott tried to cover up the death from the moment she made the first 999 call while Howell had tried to escape the scene. 

Howell was jailed for life for murder with a minimum term of 32 years.

Scott was jailed for 27 years, serving at least 17.

Dad-of-five Brett Humphries who stalked a woman, burgled her home and threatened to post an intimate picture of her on social media will spend the festive period behind bars.

The 33-year-old, of Calder Road, Worcester, had an on, off relationship with the victim.

After she ended it, Humphries threatened to post a picture of the victim in her underwear on Facebook. 

Humphries was jailed for 17 months in September.

Thug Robbie Wells, of Donaldson Court, Worcester, who kicked his former partner in the stomach causing her to fracture her leg and leaving her unable to walk properly was jailed in July. 

The court heard the 43-year-old had built up an "appalling criminal record" of violence against others.

Wells without warning kicked out with his legs into the victim's stomach sending her flying back into a fireplace. 

The court heard the victim suffered a broken leg and had to have a plate inserted in her knee. 

Wells was jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Drug dealer Joshua Jones is behind bars this Christmas. 

The 24-year-old, of Ramsdale Close, Malvern, was given an additional 22 months added to the sentence he is already serving in prison in October. 

Jones was jailed in 2022 after police found ecstasy, cannabis and cocaine worth more than £30,000 at his home in Ramsdale Close, Malvern. 

Despite the original arrest, it later emerged Jones kept drug dealing. 

During a later raid, police found 39 grams of cocaine, with a street value of more than £3,000, and 58 grams of cannabis as well as drug paraphernalia and a Nokia telephone.

Dale Thorn was jailed for being part of a knife-wielding gang who threatened to stab a vulnerable person.

The 40-year-old, of Nailers Row, Castle Street, Evesham, with accomplices forced his way into the victim's home in Evesham.

The victim was threatened before the gang stole various items.

Thorn was jailed for three years and one month in November.
