Dogs Trust has shared why dogs need sponsoring. The charity said: "Every week 1000 people are making the call to give up their dog.
"While most dogs find a loving new home within about six weeks, some dogs need love and support for longer.
"We rely on sponsorships to look after the 1600 dogs in our care at any one time.
"Your support can make the world of difference."

How to sponsor a dog at Dogs Trust Evesham
First of all, you’ll need to choose a dog from the list of those who need sponsoring which can be found here. You can choose to sponsor more than one dog if you’d like to.
Then, you can choose your Dogs Trust sponsorship with annual and monthly options available.
You’ll also choose how much money you’d like to give. You can sponsor a dog for as little as £1 per payment.
You can sponsor dogs who are looking for new homes and are currently at Dogs Trust centres across the UK.

If you’re setting up the sponsorship as a gift, you’ll need to provide contact details for the person who needs to receive the dog updates.
Once you or your loved one are signed up, you’ll get regular updates about your chosen dog. You’ll also receive a sponsor pack complete with a photo certificate of the dog you choose, photo postcards, a sticker for a window and a fridge magnet.
Updates will be issued three times a year – Christmas, Valentine’s Day and in the summer – and you’ll receive information about how they’re doing.
